Join us as aChildren and Young Peoples Deputy Home Manager in our brand-new home in Hinckley. We have an exciting project to deliver therapeutic residential care to some of the county’s most vulnerable young people. You would be working for one of the largest and longest standing childrens charity in England giving you job security and masses of employment opportunities.
About the home
Our beautiful new home in Hinckley supportschildren & young people between 8-18 years facing risks around exploitation,by identifying and responding to harm and abuse posed to them outside of their home environment and understanding the importance of intervention. The service will provide up to 3 service users at any one-time opportunities to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships and develop confidence, independence and social/emotional skills.
What you’ll be doing
As a Children and Young Peoples Deputy Home Manager, you’ll:
* Build trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
* Work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
* Shift lead and conduct staff supervisions.
* Support the Registered Manager with audits and other duties where required.
* Contribute to the upkeep of the home including cooking, cleaning etc.
* Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
* Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
* Promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.
What we’re looking for
* A driver with access to own car (essential)
* Must hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare.
* Must holdORbe willing to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's services.
* Must have at least 1 year supervisory and shift leader experience in a children's residential setting.
* Knowledge and experience of working with OFSTED Regulations and Quality Standards of Children's homes with the ability to support the manager to achieve a rating of outstanding.
* Knowledge and experience of recording and reporting to enable safeguarding and protection of children & young people.
