We are recruiting for a Assistant Service Manager Cancer Performance who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual who will provide timely, efficient, and effective strategic and operational management support to the Service Development portfolio, ensuring that the cancer administration services and operations are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible standard.
Working under the direction of the Deputy Operations Director for cancer, the individual will take managerial responsibility for the operation and delivery of all patients related administrative, clerical and secretarial functions, overseeing the below teams:
Mount Vernon MDT team – consistent of: MDT coordinators & Patient Registration Clerks
Secretarial team - consistent of: Team leader, Medical Secretaries & Support Secretaries
CNS Admin – consistent of Support Secretaries
In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137 per annum pro rata.

Main duties of the job
To monitor performance via the local patient tracking meetings and by liaising with the management team to ensure and support achievement of Cancer Waiting Times.
To be responsible for developing processes for data collection and validation to meet national reporting and information requirements, including the provision of training on systems and processes across the Division as appropriate.
Monitor and ensure departmental KPIs are being consistently met.
To support projects within the Division to ensure delivery of excellent clinical services and support the clinical teams to implement new ways of working.
To innovate more effective systems to benefit the Division and the Trust.
Co-ordinate the delivery of the appraisal program for non-clinical staff, ensuring appropriate staff development and involving the assessment and facilitation of training needs
To participate on the facilitation of projects aimed to improve administrative tasks within the organization. This involves liaising with third parties and ensuring that the requirements of the service are met prior to implementation
