Our client, an award-winning law firm with a strong reputation in landlord and tenant law, is seeking a Solicitor with proven expertise in housing law to join their welcoming team in Barry. This is a key appointment supporting the firm's continued growth and client service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of landlord and tenant residential cases independently
* Advise clients on legal notices, HMO regulations, injunctions (including access and anti-social behaviour), rent repayment orders, disrepair, harassment, unlawful eviction, trespass, and enforcement actions
* Manage cases from start to finish, including attending court and representing clients at hearings
* Liaise with High Court Sheriffs and bailiffs when enforcement is necessary
* Provide clarity and guidance to both private and social tenants
* Draft legal documents and correspondence effectively and professionally
* Work within firm policies, maintaining high standards of reliability and professionalism
* Collaborate with a friendly, supportive team environment
Essential Experience
* Strong background in landlord and tenant law and housing rights
* Ability to manage cases confidently with minimal supervision
* Understanding of company let agreements and local authority involvement
* Approachable, solution-oriented, and client-focused
* Eloquent and professional communicator, especially over the phone and in court
* Highly organised and able to manage own workload effectively
* Team-focused and supportive
* Committed to continuous professional development and team policies
* Reliable and trustworthy
Additional Information
* Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
* Location: Primarily office-based in Barry with some hybrid flexibility for those living farther away
