SEN Learning Support Assistant
Prospero Teaching is working closely with a specialist school in Basingstoke to recruit a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a long-term project. The school is specifically seeking individuals who are committed, resilient, and genuinely motivated to help change young people's lives.
This role is not short or casual support it is for candidates who want to invest in pupils progress over time, build strong relationships, and make a meaningful difference to their development, confidence, and future outcomes.
A clean UK driving licence is essential for this role and is non-negotiable.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Support students with emotional, behavioural, and social needs
- Help pupils engage with learning and develop independence
- Assist with routines, transitions, and regulation strategies
- Build trusting, consistent relationships with pupils over time
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
- Support pupils both in the classroom and during off-site activities
This role requires patience, consistency, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.

Essential Requirements:
- Clean UK driving licence (ESSENTIAL)
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (formal or informal)

Contract Details:
- Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
- Contract type: Long/ ongoing
- Start date: ASAP
- Hours: School hours (term time)
- Location: Basingstoke
- Pay: £14.66 - £15.66 per hour
Experience, Training & Qualifications:
- SEN experience preferred
- Safeguarding training within the last 12 months (can be provided)
- Relevant qualifications welcome but not essential attitude and commitment are key
Eligibility:
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to provide two professional references related to working with children
