Community Dental Services are looking for an experienced dental nurse to support the mobile dental team in the provision of dental care to children, young people and vulnerable adults. This is a full-time role, based on 37.5 hours a per week on a 18 month fixed term contract although part-time hours can be considered. This post attracts a 'Golden Hello' payment of £5,000 applicable to new applicants taking a substantive post. £2,500 will be payable after the first month of employment and £2,500 will be paid after six months*(subject to CDS policy conditions and upon completion of successful probation period). We also offer relocation assistance of £8,000 (again subject to CDS policy conditions). Main duties of the job: Monitor diary and appointment lists. Prepare the surgery for use at the beginning of the session. Receive the patient into the department and prepare for treatment. Ensure NHS forms are completed. Record treatment. Prepare filling material, instruments and equipment. Reassure and explain dental procedures, particularly for nervous and additional needs patients and when there may be communication difficulties. Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and manage urgent cases with appropriate triage. Provide pre- and post-operative advice including oral hygiene advice. About the Candidate To be considered for this position, you will need the following qualifications, skills and experience: Essential: Educated to GCSE level. National diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 or equivalent. Valid GDC registration. Previous experience as a dental nurse. Friendly, reliable, understanding individual. Evidence of continual CPD. Desired: Certificate in Oral Health Instruction, Dental Sedation, Radiology or/and Topical Fluoride Application.
