Business Development Executive
Bluline Health Ltd
Job Description: Business Development Executive (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: Worcester, UK (Cadbury House, Blackpole East) with Nationwide travel
Reporting to: Executive Director
Company background
Bluline Health Ltd is a dedicated and compassionate healthcare scheme providing specialist support and access to private medical care for the UK's police family, including serving officers, staff, and their relatives. Our mission is to "protect the protectors" by offering a reliable and affordable healthcare alternative that complements NHS services. As a not-for-profit organisation, all our resources are reinvested to enhance the services we provide to our valued members. We are expanding our team and are looking for a motivated and driven individual to join us on a temporary contract to help with a specific campaign for membership growth.
The opportunity
This is an exceptional opportunity for a confident, ambitious, and people-oriented individual looking to develop a career in business development on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will play a crucial role in expanding our membership base and building strong relationships within the policing community, with a focus on delivering a specific project. You will receive comprehensive training and ongoing mentorship to build your skills and excel in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities
* Generate new leads: Research and proactively identify potential new members within the police community, including forces, officers, staff, and affiliated organisations.
* Outreach and engagement: Initiate contact with prospective members and organisations through professional communication methods, including telephone calls, email, and face-to-face meetings.
* Build relationships: Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with key stakeholders, including Police Federation representatives, departmental contacts, and individual police personnel.
* Presentations and pitches: Assist in the preparation and delivery of compelling presentations and proposals to explain the benefits of our healthcare scheme.
* Attend events: Represent Bluline Health at key industry events, roadshows, and police force gatherings across the UK to generate leads and increase brand visibility. This role requires regular national travel to engage with clients and attend events.
* Manage sales pipeline: Support the Executive Director in managing and tracking all sales activities and progress using our CRM system.
* Achieve targets: Work towards and achieve specified sales and membership growth targets, contributing directly to the team's overall objectives for the contract period.
* Market research: Keep up to date with changes in the healthcare and policing sectors to inform our development strategy.
* Administrative support: Complete administrative tasks related to the sales process, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant.
Skills and qualifications
* Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role, policing, retail, or a sales environment is advantageous but not essential. We value a proactive attitude and strong communication skills above direct experience.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport and clearly explain complex information.
* People skills: A friendly, confident, and professional manner, with a genuine desire to help people.
* Self-motivated: An ambitious and target-driven mindset, with the resilience to pursue leads and build relationships.
* Organisation: Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* IT proficiency: Competence in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and a willingness to learn how to use a CRM system.
* Driving Licence and Vehicle: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this role due to the national travel requirements.
What we offer
* Competitive Salary: A salary of £28,000 to £32,000 per annum, based on experience.
* Business Travel Expenses: All reasonable business travel expenses will be reimbursed.
* Benefits: A company pension scheme, private medical insurance, and a friendly, supportive working environment.
* Purpose-driven work: The opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of police officers and their families.
