Job Summary
We are looking for a caring and reliable Care Assistant to provide vital support to individuals in a variety of care environments, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in patient care and a strong dedication to improving the quality of life for others. As a Care Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting clients with daily living activities while ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety.
Responsibilities
* Support clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Deliver personal care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, or autism.
* Observe and record patients' vital signs, promptly reporting changes to a nurse or healthcare professional.
* Prepare and serve meals, assisting with meal planning based on dietary needs and preferences.
* Keep living spaces clean, safe, and organized through regular housekeeping.
* Administer medications as directed, in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
* Follow personalized care plans to meet each client's unique needs.
* Offer companionship and emotional support to promote overall well-being.
* Safely operate equipment, such as Hoyer lifts, to assist with patient transfers.
* Encourage participation in activities that foster mental engagement and social interaction.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in caregiving, home health, nursing homes, or long-term care is preferred.
* CPR and First Aid knowledge required; certification is an advantage.
* Skilled in patient observation and monitoring vital signs.
* Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly valued.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
* Physically capable of assisting with heavy lifting and patient transfers.
* Compassionate, patient, and genuinely motivated to improve the lives of others.
* Familiarity with care plans, safe medication practices, and healthcare safety protocols.
