As Head of Operations, you are a key leader of the first line management team and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the region, driving operational excellence and ensuring compliance, efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with strategic goals, delivering a best-in-class customer experience.
You are responsible for leading the operational team, developing, and implementing strategies, and managing resources to achieve company objectives with Gross Profit responsibility for the site.
This role involves a mix of strategic planning and direct management, requiring strong leadership, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Role and responsibilities:
* Lead, motivate and mentor the operations team, fostering a positive and productive work environment and managing performance.
* Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.
* Lead, enforce and develop plant safety procedures across the region.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement; identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance operational performance.
* Maintain governance to ensure business processes, quality procedures and compliance in line with relevant regulations, accreditations and standards.
* Execute regional operations functions to maintain smooth product flow and efficiency.
* Enhance cross-departmental communication and reduce friction points through transparent reporting and clear accountability.
* Set and monitor measurable key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze data and identify areas for improvement.
* Embed and standardise all aspects of business ERP use (Dynamics 365) in order to ensure efficient utilisation of all resources.
* Own inventory optimization by working with the relevant team to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize costs.
* Co-ordinate transparent system reporting to ensure accurate, real-time visibility for effective product tracking.
* Shape and promote a customer-experience-focused culture across departments.
* Maintain and build strong customer relationships, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
* Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
* Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and alignment across the organization.
Requirements
We are looking for a talented leader with 5+ years experience in a senior operational management role, with a proven track record of success. The successful candidate will have gained this experience within manufacturing and have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations or related field.
