Job Overview
We have a great opportunity for you to support our busy Estates team at our hospitals. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will assist with the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical plant, equipment, services, and minor building fabric repairs. Your role will contribute to site-wide engineering compliance and the achievement of strategic aims set by the Head of Estates.

Main Duties
* Carry out routine work such as plant room checks, defect reporting, filter changes on Air Handling Units, lamp replacements, fire door inspections, planned maintenance, painting, and lock replacements.
* Investigate and rectify minor faults, assist craftspersons, and perform other semi-skilled mechanical, electrical, and building repairs as directed.
* Perform water sampling for legionella control (post-training), change taps, showers, and alter pipework, assist with mechanical ventilation and medical gas systems, and conduct first response air conditioning checks.
* Work outside normal hours and participate in the out-of-hours ‘on-call’ rota as needed.
