Overview
We are looking to add to our great catering team to work across various sites within the trust. The role will be 37.5 hours per week, working a range of shifts from 06:00 to 19:00, 5 days over 7 (including weekends). The role will be based at the Catering Prestwich unit. However, you will be required to support other units.
The successful candidate will be a great team player working in our kitchens and service points, capable of helping the teams to continue delivering a fantastic food service to our service users within the units. They will be a good communicator and able to think on their feet. Candidates will be expected to have or to be able to gain at least a level 2 food hygiene knowledge.
The role will include basic kitchen duties as well as assisting in food service to our service users.
Main duties of the job
* To provide a customer focused service.
* Cleaning of crockery, pots and pans using an industrial dishwashing machine and manual washing.
* Preparation of hot and cold food items, service of patient and other meals or functions.
* To adhere to safe working practices in all aspects of hygiene management.
* To adhere to safe working practices in all aspects of risk management and security.
* Carry out general and specialised cleaning tasks in accordance with Trust procedures.
* To undertake mandatory training in COSHH, HACCP and comply with all Trust policies relevant to the post, particularly with regard to the food hygiene policy.
* The loading of ovens and food trolleys.
* Please note this role may require periods of standing and may involve moving and lifting of goods and foodstuffs; the successful applicant will have to be capable of such duties.

Essential
* Some experience of working in a catering environment.
* Experience in working with other people.
Desirable
* Have a Food Hygiene Level 2 certification.
* Knowledge of food allergens.
* Current DBS check.
