What you’ll do:
* Lead and manage bids and tender submissions for the Transport business, reporting to the Business Development Director.
* Manage a Bid Team based in Warwick and London, planning resources to bid for opportunities.
* Ensure effective utilization of resources to maximize opportunities.
* Oversee end-to-end management and production of high-quality, successful bids following telent’s bid procedures.
* Improve bid quality and adopt best practices.
* Monitor bid costs and seek continual improvement in bid return on investment.
* Develop relationships with customers through meetings and presentations.
* Manage Bid Team performance, KPIs, and SLAs.
* Lead bid strategies, from Go/No Go to bid submission and post-submission support.
* Plan workload, forecast bids, and track costs and success rates.
* Conduct bid reviews and maintain the Bid library.
Who you are:
Key requirements:
* Extensive experience managing and leading a high-performing Bid Team, with a focus on efficiency and success rates.
* Proven success in leading winning bids in Public Sector markets such as Traffic, Rail, and Emergency Services.
* Strong project management, organizational, and financial skills.
* Understanding of Traffic, Rail, Telecoms, and IT products and services.
* APMP or equivalent qualification with demonstrated bid wins and best practices.
* Excellent bid writing and review skills, including financial responses.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills.
* Leadership skills with experience in building high-performing bid teams.
* Ability to develop and deliver simple solutions to complex challenges.
* Excellent interpersonal, persuasive, and influencing skills.
* Ability to identify customer needs and develop commercial propositions.
* Ownership, accountability, and a proactive attitude.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining strong relationships.
* High emotional intelligence and pride in work quality.
