Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer Contractor with experience in complex enclosure design to join our team at ESCO Maritime Solutions in Rugeley, Staffordshire.
We seek experienced engineers passionate about solving challenging problems to exceed customer expectations. Our company specializes in developing solutions for harsh environments, from deep ocean exploration sensors to high-powered electric motors and converters. Our engineers are involved in all stages of product development, from concept to delivery. In this role, you will collaborate with our Mechanical Design team and other engineering specialists to produce mechanical designs supporting our defence products.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Generating models in CAD
2. Carrying out product design tasks
3. Contributing to engineering excellence within the business
4. Providing mechanical expertise for future opportunities
Ideal candidate should have:
* A degree in mechanical engineering or higher
* Broad knowledge of systems, electrical, electro-mechanical, and rotating machinery
* Experience with manufacturing methods for electrical enclosures, such as metal fabrication, castings, welding, machining, and corrosion protection
* Proficiency in SolidWorks
* Good knowledge of materials and design lifecycle processes
* Experience designing to strict requirements like shock, EMC, and thermal constraints
* Strong communication skills
