This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated music graduate to become an integral part of a dynamic and flourishing Music Department. The Graduate Music Assistant will work at the heart of the College's musical life, supporting a wide range of rehearsals, performances, ensembles and examinations, while contributing creatively and practically to the delivery of an ambitious programme of music-making.
The role offers exceptional professional development, combining performance, accompaniment, coaching and ensemble support with arts administration and project work. Working closely with experienced music staff, conductors and visiting professionals, the Graduate Music Assistant will gain hands-on experience across orchestral, choral and instrumental disciplines, while playing a key role in the smooth running, presentation and promotion of the department. This post would suit an enthusiastic, organised and musically versatile graduate eager to develop a career in music education, performance or arts administration within a vibrant collegiate environment.
Marlborough College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the College is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children."
