Credit Risk Manager
About the role
* To establish, maintain and develop embedded risk management practices throughout the Society and Group which enable the Society to meet its strategic goals and to act as an adviser to Senior Management on areas of Credit Risk
* To manage the Credit Risk Team to build a programme of continuous improvement
* Working effectively across Risk, Commercial, Operations, Finance and Compliance to achieve shared business goals
* To maintain and develop the Credit Risk Management Policy
* To support the production and updating of the Societys more detailed Lending Policy documentation (in line with relevant regulation)
* To prepare and oversee Credit Risk Committee meeting packs including minutes and actions in a timely manner including:
* o Appropriate management information and reporting to enable efficient assessment of the Societys risk and control framework
* o Risk exposure relative to risk appetite and regulatory limits
* o Co-ordinating and escalating the reporting of risk through the Board Risk Committee as appropriate
* To liaise with internal audit and Compliance as required regarding the provision of risk information to enable audit and compliance planning
* To provide support to the Finance Team in calculating monthly Provisions and annual ICAAP scenarios
* To have responsibility for the loss models, their monitoring and ongoing improvements
* To review and recommend improvements to risk appetite, to ensure the Society is considering the economic environment and is dynamic in its approach to Credit Risk management
* To deliver ongoing improvements and automation to Credit Risk MI including contribution to and understanding business development activities and supporting the Societys growth aspirations
Key Attributes
* Previous Credit Risk Experience (preferably mortgages)
* SAS programming knowledge
