Permanent Veterinary Nurse - Oxford

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Oxford for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their team, working between two of their sites. This role is full time for 40 hours per week with weekends on a rota. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.
The practice is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and motivated nurse who has a genuine passion for animal welfare. Currently the practice has a team of 8 Vets and 5 RVNs, 1 SVN and 1 VCA along with a support team. One vet is an Advanced Practitioner in small animal surgery and holds a certificate in Orthopaedic surgery along with another Vet who has a special interest in internal medicine, intensive care and soft tissue surgery.
Currently within the practice the nurses consult, manage anaesthesia, administer medications, provide in patient care, run x-rays and prepare animals for surgery. They create a positive working culture where each and everyone has a say and can make suggestions in terms of the services offered.
Duties and responsibilites:
4. Admissions and discharges
5. Assisting in diagnostics - taking x-rays
6. Running nurse clinics
7. Be responsible and take ownership of tasks
8. Monitoring anaesthetic and assisting the Vet in surgery
9. Administering medications and taking records accurately
10. Dispensing drugs
11. Administering injections
12. In patient care
