We are seeking compassionate and highly skilled professionals to transfer their critical expertise into a vital Student Support Role within a local Blackpool secondary school, working with students aged 11-16 (Key Stage 3 & 4). This is a unique opportunity to use your core strengths-Trauma-Informed Practice, De-escalation Techniques, and Complex Needs Management-to directly support vulnerable young people and help them thrive in a school environment. Meaningful Impact: You will work closely with the Inclusion and Pastoral Teams to provide targeted support for students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviour, focusing on attendance, emotional regulation, and educational re-engagement. Your Residential Skills in Action We are looking for individuals who can confidently apply their residential care experience in a secondary school environment: Residential Care Skill (Transferable)Application in School Crisis Intervention & De-escalationManaging and safely de-escalating challenging behaviour in a school setting. Therapeutic Relationship BuildingKeyworking and mentoring students who have complex trauma or attachment needs. Consistency & BoundariesApplying school policies and behaviour systems with the consistency and resilience required to drive long-term change. Holistic PlanningContributing to student's EHC Plans and bespoke support packages, linking their emotional needs to their educational goals. Essential Criteria Previous professional experience as a Child Residential Care Worker, Support Worker, or Key Worker in a children's setting. Proven experience working with adolescents (ideally 11-16 years old) with complex needs or challenging behaviour. Demonstrable knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.
