Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: WF4 Salary: £460 – £600 per week Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day Start Date: Immediately Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs? A welcoming school in the WF4 area is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support and help students achieve their full potential. With a strong emphasis on emotional well-being and academic development, staff work collaboratively to ensure students feel safe, understood, and empowered to succeed. About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. You will play a key role in implementing individual education plans (IEPs), promoting engagement, and fostering both academic and social progress. Responsibilities: • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring personalised learning approaches are followed. • Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual learning requirements. • Support students’ emotional regulation and social development through positive behaviour strategies. • Encourage independence, confidence, and active participation in classroom activities. • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and SENCO. • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment at all times. Qualifications: • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school or similar setting is desirable. • Understanding of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learners. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
