About Spiral Blue


Spiral Blue is an innovative Australian space technology company advancing space domain awareness and Earth observation through next-generation LiDAR and edge computing systems. We design and deploy sensing capabilities that support climate security, carbon markets, defence, and critical geospatial intelligence applications. As we expand into the UK and Europe, we are building a strong local commercial presence to scale partnerships and revenue across government and enterprise markets.
The Role
We are seeking a driven and commercially astute Business Development Manager to lead Spiral Blue’s UK growth. You will build pipeline, secure strategic contracts, and establish long-term partnerships across defence, civil space, climate, and commercial sectors. This is a high-ownership role suited to someone who can operate independently, represent the company at senior levels, and translate opportunity into revenue.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial Strategy & Market Development: Develop and execute the UK growth strategy and position Spiral Blue across priority sectors.
* Sales & Pipeline Development: Build and convert a high-quality pipeline, leading proposals, pricing, and negotiations.
* Government & Strategic Engagement: Engage UK government, defence, and ecosystem partners to unlock strategic and funded opportunities.
* Customer & Delivery Alignment: Maintain strong customer relationships and coordinate internally to deliver commercial commitments.

Requirements

* 5+ years’ experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships in space, defence, geospatial, climate tech, or deep tech.
* Proven experience securing UK government or enterprise contracts.
* Strong understanding of the UK space and defence ecosystem.
* Ability to operate independently and manage complex sales cycles.
* Right to work in the United Kingdom, with citizenship in Australia, US, New Zealand, Canada, UK, Europe, Japan, or South Korea.

Desired

* Experience with satellite data, Earth observation, or geospatial analytics.
* Familiarity with UK Space Agency, MOD, ESA, or related procurement pathways.
* Established network across UK defence, climate, or space communities.
* Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort in a scaling startup environment.
