An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band Healthcare Scientist Associate to join the Cardiac Rhythm Management team in Cardiac Physiology.
Key aspects of this role are to assist and support cardiac physiologists, clinical scientists, specialist nurses and advanced nurse practitioners within Cardiac Rhythm Management. To be a member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to and delivering effective, quality care to cardiac patients. Other duties include meeting and greeting patients, preparing the lab and clinics, performing lead ECGs, stock control and general housekeeping.
Applicants should have experience in the role of a cardiac physiology clinical support worker/cardiographer and have achieved the Society for Cardiological Science & Technology Certificate in Electrocardiography/ASCST part OR Care Certificate OR Equivalent NVQ and be able to demonstrate experience in performing ECGs.
SCST Diploma in ECG interpretation, Basic or Hospital Life Support qualification and phlebotomy skills would be advantageous.
Candidates should have a mature, caring attitude and be calm and confident in their approach to work. Good communication, organisation and customer care skills are essential for this role.

Main duties of the job
1. To assist and support the MDT ensuring smooth and efficient running of daily remote monitoring clinics. To be the first point of contact for patients on remote monitoring and to assist with remote monitoring queries and clinics. To be a member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to and delivering effective, quality care of cardiac patients. Support and deliver orientation and training to staff within and as appropriate, out with the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Liaise with other staff within the Cardiac Physiology department, Oxford University Hospitals, GP Practices, and other local NHS Trust organisations to ensure that patients receive cardiac physiology procedures requested by clinical staff in the delivery of health care. To respect and maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the department and patients. To keep the department well maintained, stocked and tidy, while adhering to health and safety policies.
