Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care, particularly with seniors and those suffering from conditions. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients through personalised support and companionship.

Duties

* Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health or behaviour.
* Assist with meal preparation and ensure that dietary needs are met.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, to ensure their safety and comfort.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
* Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.

Requirements

* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is beneficial.
* Certification in first aid is preferred; additional training in caregiving is an asset.
* A valid driving licence may be required for roles involving transportation of clients.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
* Ability to manage behaviours appropriately while maintaining a calm demeanour under pressure.

Pay: £13.25-£15.98 per hour
