Role Overview
The post-holder will be employed on a wide range of complex fault‑finding and maintenance duties. He/she will be responsible for maintaining all Building Fabric, Mechanical, Electrical, and building infrastructure services, and equipment within Alder Hey.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical assistance to mechanical, electrical, and building colleagues and contractors ensuring compliance with the Trust’s safety standards and procedures for all relevant systems.
* Undertake complex fault diagnosis and fault rectification, maintenance and capital work across the Trust. Planning minor improvement works as directed by management.
* Responsible for the calibration of mechanical installations, Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance (RM) of all Alder Hey Estates services and plant.
* Be aware of the workings of the Buildings and Mechanical systems within the Healthcare environment and carry out essential maintenance and repair of such areas.
* Carry out equipment surveys, audits and visual inspections as requested by the line manager.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections, adjustments, and commissioning.
* Carry out small routine maintenance support work across all trades in a safe environment and to a high quality.
* Possess the IPAF card to enable the post holder to carry out ladder/Kick Stool inspections in a timely manner across the Trust, entering the dates and results on the spreadsheet provided.
* Ensure all check lists/advice notes are utilized to comply with the department’s PPM Policy.
* Maintain credible liaison with other departments on matters that relate to the installation and maintenance of equipment e.g. CBU Managers and other Department Heads.
Qualifications
IPAF card required. Experience in mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance within a healthcare environment. Ability to carry out fault diagnosis, PPM, and RM. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
