If you’re looking for a meaningful role where you can make a real difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.

At Real Life Options, we’re passionate about empowering individuals to live independently and confidently within their own homes and communities. We’re currently recruiting Relief Support Workers to join our services in Hawick, offering flexibility and deeply rewarding work.

About the Services

Hawick Shared Accommodation (Supported Living):

24-hour housing support service for five adults (three females and two males) with learning disabilities.

Two individuals are non-verbal and use body language and gestures to communicate.

Support includes personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, and community engagement.

Team working environment during the day and evening; one waking night worker supports both homes using assistive technology.

Hawick Outreach Service (Lone Working):

Supporting 16 individuals in their own homes across Hawick and nearby areas.

Support includes tenancy management, personal care, meal preparation, medication, and help accessing the community.

Schedules vary day-to-day depending on who is being supported.

Driving is not essential; walking time is included.

A Day in the Life

In Supported Living:

Early shifts begin with morning routines: personal care, medication, breakfast, and household tasks.

During the day, individuals are supported to take part in chosen community activities.

Evening shifts involve meal prep, household duties, documentation, and bedtime routines.

Night shifts (10pm–8am) focus on promoting sleep, using assistive technology, and completing overnight tasks.

In Outreach:

Each shift is different and depends on individual support needs and scheduled visits.

Support may include personal care, meal prep, medication, domestic tasks, and community access.

Flexibility is key, as plans may change based on service user preferences.
