How to Join Us
Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA)
A three-year programme where you learn as you earn policing London’s streets, gaining a (BSc) Hons degree in professional policing practice on completion. The Met covers all qualification fees so there's no cost to you; it is fully funded.
Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP)
A two-year programme providing new recruits with a blend of classroom‑based and operational learning. Initial training takes place at a Met training centre before you join a policing team for practical on‑the‑job experience. You will be assessed regularly on knowledge, skills and behaviours, but you are not required to complete an academic qualification.
Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion of training, you can shape your future career path: promotion through the ranks, specialist teams, detective work, diplomatic protection, Mounted Branch, cyber‑crime, and more.
