TheDirector, Statistical Programmingis a strategic leadership role for an experienced programming professional who canshape functional direction, lead and develop high-performing teams, and ensure excellence in clinical data analysis and reporting. This role is accountable for drivingquality, compliance, standards, automation, and continuous improvementacross complex projects or multiple drug programs, while partnering cross-functionally to deliver business impact. The ideal candidate combinesdeep technical and regulatory expertisewith strong people leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to influence at both theteam and organizational level.
Accountabilities:
1. Provide input into the strategy for the programming function
2. Provides strategic, scientific and programming advice and expertise to the team
3. Defines programming strategic direction for implementation of statistical programming aspects of the clinical development program/s
4. Leads, manages and develops a group of programmers, providing guidance and mentorship. Manages training and timesheet compliance.
5. Work according to agreed functional and regional SHE strategy by ensuring proper management of SHE risks, incidents, reporting, follow-up and improvements.
6. Arranges and structures the team in order to create an environment where the team can work productively and collaboratively together
7. Defines, monitor and assess objectives for team
8. Provides input to capacity management for all projects in scope
9. Captures business needs and plans recruitment accordingly
10. Recruits and builds the team with the appropriate skill set
11. Maintains talent and ensures talent development
12. Maintains own and team knowledge of the latest industry and regulatory requirement to stay current with the programming practices
13. Accountable for managing contracting staff
14. Manages risk for assigned projects by making complex judgments and decisions
15. Overall accountability for the quality and compliance to internal, external and regulatory requirements for the delivery of programming aspects in clinical development
16. Ensures consistent approach and provides expertise to data standards and its implementation within own function or across Biometrics
17. Measures the compliance of and ensures that there is a consistent approach to data standards and automation and its implementation
18. Leads and contributes in improvement and organizational initiatives within and outside of function
19. Drives continuous improvement of the team and function
20. Oversees CRO Statement of Work and can act as the Programming representative in CRO Alliances
21. Represents AstraZeneca and the Programming function at external events
22. Influences/collaborates cross functionally at TA or Biometrics level by providing subject matter expertise
23. Collaborates cross-functionally and represents Programming leadership where required
Essential Experience/Skills:
24. Degree in Mathematics (, Applied Math, Engineering, etc), Statistics, Computer Science, Life Science, or equivalent experience
25. Proven programming leadership experience
26. Thorough knowledge of the clinical development process
27. Thorough knowledge of industry standards
28. Demonstrated leadership capability and proven ability to lead teams towards a common goal
29. Demonstrated planning and organisational skill
30. Ability to influence relevant stakeholders and global teams
31. Ability to provide input to functional strategies
32. Ability to develop teams and individuals
