SEN Teaching Assistant – Salisbury
Prospero Teaching is looking for a patient, enthusiastic, and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in the Salisbury area. This long‑term role involves working with students who have additional needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs, and social or emotional challenges.
You will provide consistent, tailored support to help pupils engage with learning, develop confidence, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a real difference in their education.
This role is well suited to candidates with backgrounds in SEN, care, support roles, youth work, or graduates seeking hands‑on experience in education, psychology, or child‑focused careers.
The Role:
1. Provide 1:1 support and small‑group assistance for pupils with SEN
2. Support pupils with classroom learning, activities, and transitions
3. Assist with emotional regulation, confidence‑building, and behaviour support
4. Help adapt learning tasks under the guidance of teaching staff
5. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support teams
6. Encourage independence, engagement, and positive social interaction
7. Contribute to a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Ideal Candidate:
8. Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals
9. Calm, patient, and confident supporting additional needs
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills
11. Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
12. Adaptable, reliable, and proactive
13. Passionate about supporting pupils who need extra guidance
14. Psychology, education, or child‑related graduates encouraged to apply

18. Hours: Full‑time, term‑time
19. Pay Rate: £ – £ per hour
20. Contract: Long‑term
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
21. SEN or child‑support experience desirable
22. Safeguarding training can be provided
23. Understanding of SEN strategies beneficial but not essential
