Overview
UTC Receptionist, Emergency Care, Penrith Hospital, Penrith. Based at the Urgent Treatment Centre, Penrith; a self-motivated Receptionist/Administrative Assistant is required to join the Emergency Care Team, supporting clinical staff. You should have good IT knowledge and demonstrate a high degree of customer care skills. It is essential that you can apply good judgment under pressure and empathise with patients. Experience in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be a team player, and also be able to work on your own initiative under pressure while remaining calm. You must be able to cover a 7 day a week rota between 8:00 and 22:00, with occasional cross-site work at Keswick UTC. Shifts are 08:00-15:00 or 15:00-22:00. There is a 19.5 hour post and a 26 hour post on offer.
Main duties
Provide an efficient service for the reception of patients and their relatives and aid in the smooth running of the Urgent Treatment Centre and Scheduled Care Unit. Assist nursing staff with non-nursing duties while dealing with enquiries from patients, medical staff and the general public.
