Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Consultant Psychiatrist
position. This role plays an integral part in prioritising the delivery of a safe, effective and caring service for children and young people (0‑18 years).
The role includes a Recruitment and Retention payment of £45,000, structured over a three‑year period: £15,000 upon successful recruitment, £10,000 at 12 months, £10,000 at 24 months, and £10,000 at 36 months.
Main duties of the job Provide high‑quality specialist clinical assessments and relevant psychiatric and physical investigations to children, young people and their families in a range of settings. Collaborate with nurses, psychologists, systemic family therapists, child psychotherapists, and other team members to plan and deliver tailored treatment plans.
Work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. Participate in a Trust‑wide consultant network, attend division meetings and clinical governance meetings.

Person Specification
MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
Fully registered with the GMC and licensed to practise at appointment
Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months
In good standing with GMC, no warnings or conditions on practice
Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
Transport
Holds and will use a valid UK driving licence or provides evidence of a proposed alternative
Clinical Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Excellent knowledge in specialty and bio‑psycho‑social perspective
Excellent clinical, oral and written communication skills in English
Wide range of specialist and sub‑specialist experience relevant to NHS or comparable service
Academic Skills & Lifelong Learning
Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training
Ability to work in and lead a team
Commitment to shared leadership and collaborative working to deliver improvement
Continuous professional development participation
Research or service evaluation participation
Use and appraisal of clinical evidence
Active participation in clinical audit and quality improvement programmes
Participatory approach to shared decision‑making and conversations about formulation, diagnosis and ongoing care

Annual salary: £113,565 to £150,569 (pro‑rata for part‑time working).
