We are recruiting on behalf of a respected local public sector organisation for an experienced Property Disposal / Valuation Surveyor to join their team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will provide professional valuation services across the organisation’s property portfolio. The role ensures that all property and land assets are maintained, valued and (where suitable) disposed appropriately, or used effectively to benefit the community.
Location: Hybrid – Office in Market Harborough, site visits across local area
Contract: Temporary (Approx. 6 months)
Start Date: December
Working Pattern: Part-time (3 or 4 days per week)
Day Rate: £282 per day
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Managing and overseeing the disposal and valuation of approximately 200 properties and open spaces within the organisation’s portfolio
* Providing advice on acquisition, disposal, leasing, transfers, compliance and efficiencies to inform investment decisions and portfolio rationalisation.
* Conducting valuations in line with RICS standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements
* Preparing detailed reports and recommendations, including market analysis and strategic advice
* Liaising with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate property transactions and resolve queries
* Undertaking site inspections and assessments
Required Skills and Experience:
* RICS accreditation is essential, with demonstrable experience in property valuation
* Proven track record of working within a public sector organisation, with a strong understanding of governance and compliance requirements
* Proficiency in valuation software, property databases, and GIS mapping
* Ability to manage a large and varied property portfolio effectively
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports
* Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for site visits
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment
