Offer description

Consultant Nurse & Approved Clinician (The Bay and Fylde & Wyre) – Band 8b, Full-time 37.50 hours per week - Permanent This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician to join our CYPMH Team in this newly revised role, together with our partners across Lancashire & South Cumbria as we move towards mobilising high-level clinical leadership in response to transforming Children & Young People’s Mental Health Services. The Consultant Nurse role is integral to the Lancashire and South Cumbria (L&SC) wide programme, fulfilling a vision of person-centred, evidence-based practice developed through our ongoing service redesign and co-production work. The post holder will be part of the Lancashire & South Cumbria innovative and exciting approach to clinical excellence across the integrated care system footprint, yet with a very strong local focus on working across a range of partner organisations including local CYPMHS teams, the Integrated Care Board, NHS England, and national networks. The aim is to establish a coordinated, effective, efficient, high quality and consistent approach to Nursing and Professional Practice across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Please note, it is expected that successful applicants would be working on-site through the working week across these locations to provide a highly visible leadership presence and sustain key clinical relationships. Whilst the post holder will be based within local CYPMHS teams, our vision is that the Consultant Nurse will lead and develop educational and research programmes to support clinical practice across the Trust, helping to embed a culture of continuous development in which young people, parents, carers and professionals feel supported. The post holder must be comfortable with complexity and risk, be reflexive, resilient and have experience of exercising highly advanced clinical expertise and judgement in times of considerable uncertainty. As a fully autonomous practitioner, the post holder will also be a key figure in the clinical governance forums across Lancashire & South Cumbria and should feel confident in modelling advanced practice across the workforce, as well as delivering training and clinical consultancy within their footprint. There will also be an expectation to work flexibly across the Fylde & Wyre and The Bay localities to meet service demands, and the post holder will hold a clinical caseload of high complexity.
