About the Role:
As a Learning Difficulties Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils who require additional learning assistance. You will provide one-to-one or small group support, help deliver differentiated learning activities, and contribute to creating an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages independence and confidence.
Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with learning difficulties.
* Assist teachers in delivering differentiated and engaging lessons.
* Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
* Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive attitudes.
* Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
* Encourage independence and confidence in learning.
* Supervise students during breaks or lunchtimes when required.
* Support students during school trips and extracurricular activities.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with learning difficulties in a UK school or similar setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children.
* Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent (desirable).
* A degree in Psychology, SEN, Counselling or a similar field is desirable but not mandatory.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
