Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a school in Smethwick, to start ASAP until July. The role is full-time, working 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM daily. You will be supporting a Year 6 class as they work towards SATs.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience In The Following
1. Using teacher assessment data to customise interventions and support children with learning difficulties.
2. Organising classroom spaces and materials to assist teachers in lesson preparation.
3. Monitoring social interactions and modelling positive choices to improve connections and reduce conflicts.
4. Preparing indoor and outdoor spaces for recreational activities to support children's physical health and development.
5. Updating class records with attendance and grades for assignments, projects, and examinations.
6. Supervising children during activities and play, ensuring safety and addressing behavioural problems proactively.
7. Preparing classrooms for lessons by setting workspaces, distributing teaching materials, and loading presentations onto interactive whiteboards.
8. Assisting teachers in managing class behaviour through positive reinforcement and reward schemes.
9. Helping teachers plan engaging activities and create level-appropriate teaching materials.
10. Assisting the music teacher with the school choir as part of an after-school club.
11. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised classroom environment.
12. Providing tailored feedback and progress reports to parents and carers.

Qualifications and Skills
