Chill’d CIC support young people aged 5 - 25 Our current cohort are aged 12 – 21 We have 2 ‘full time’ post 16 young people, who will attend for 5 hours a day over 3 days. There are other young people that will attend for sessions of 2, 3 or 4 hours. You will be Contributing to Chill’d CIC’s holistic approach with young people. Identifying and facilitating any barriers to engagement using a person-centered approach. Identifying the young person's needs with social, emotional and mental well-being. Empowering young people to resolve their own issues and help them to develop coping strategies for the future Modelling a healthy and trusting relationship, through clear communication and appropriate boundaries Acknowledging their strengths, talents and gifts and helping them to use these An active listener and offer support, be encouraging and help the young person develop a positive view of themselves and their environment This can be delivered through talking about their interests, engaging with their interests, doing fun tasks together, supporting play, helping them to make positive connections and develop new interests. Key Responsibilities Supporting young people in a way that helps them to engage in activities offered, taking into account their interests and needs Have a positive understanding of autism and other neurodiversity Empowering young people Understanding that traditional education has been problematic, and the young person may have trauma and require a non-traditional approach to tasks Recognise progress made and communicate to the team (Chill’d, parents / carers and the young person) To summarise each session to the team in a positive way to help build relationships and trust To understand the goals, philosophy, processes and practices of Chill’d CIC and support our future aims To understand and follow the policies of Chill’d CIC To safeguard and promote the welfare of students To attend relevant meetings To put the needs of the young person first To be able to react positively and suggest ideas to help the young person Anything else as required by the Directors to fulfill this role This is a senior role. You will be responsible for, ensuring the day to day running of the Hub works for all of our young people, whilst they are sharing the space. You will work closely with Chill’d Senior Mentor to help shape the best experience for our young people, in line with our bespoke provision. This involves using unique and imaginative ideas to really engage with the young people in the ethos of Chill’d CIC’s ‘a different way’ You will be working with young people mainly on a 1-2-1 basis as well as joining other mentors also working on a 1-2-1 basis to form small groups and encouraging positive social interactions during shared times. To provide relationship focused support and be responsible for planning the learning package for each young person, ensuring they learn and develop at a pace that suits them. You will be helping the young people achieve AQA awards and Functional Skills. The role is for 40 hours per week for 39 weeks a year. Pay is averaged over 12 equal monthly payments. Holiday’s must be taken outside of term time. There is an opportunity for additional work during the holidays, which will be paid as overtime. The salary is generous and is negotiable depending on experience, from £29,000 This role will begin in September 2026
