Are you an experienced and proactive SENCO looking for a strategic inclusion role from January 2026? A successful primary school in Northamptonshire is recruiting a SENCO to lead its SEND provision and to champion inclusive practice across the curriculum. The SENCO will take responsibility for whole-school SEND strategy, manage the SEND budget, co-ordinate assessment and intervention programmes, and ensure high-quality support for pupils with diverse needs. This SENCO will be part of the senior team and will help shape policy, CPD and the school’s approach to personalised learning. The role will begin January 2026, with a comprehensive handover to ensure continuity of provision. The school’s vision is to create an environment where every child can thrive; the SENCO will develop evidence-informed interventions, work closely with the SENDCo network in Northamptonshire, and collaborate with families to secure positive outcomes. The successful SENCO will balance strategic leadership with day-to-day casework and will be supported by experienced teaching assistants and a committed senior leadership team. Key responsibilities Devise and implement a strategic SEND plan aligned to the school improvement priorities. Coordinate assessment, referrals and statutory processes, including EHCP applications and reviews. Lead professional development to ensure staff use effective inclusive strategies across all year groups. Monitor intervention impact, use data to refine approaches and report progress to governors. Strengthen links with Northamptonshire services, specialist providers and family support networks. Person specification Qualified teacher with accredited SEND training and experience in a SENCO or similar role. Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice, differentiation strategies and multi-agency working. Ability to interpret data, evaluate interventions and present findings to senior leaders and governors. Confident leader, capable of mentoring staff and developing whole-school inclusive practice. Ready to start January 2026 and to work across the local Northamptonshire community.
