Wolviston Management Services are proudly supporting our client – a well-established engineering and fabrication business in the search for an experienced Plater to join their skilled team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist fabrication company known for their high-quality work across sectors including materials handling, steelwork. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering precision-engineered components and assemblies to tight specifications.
The Role
Working from technical drawings, you will be responsible for laying out, cutting, and assembling steel plate and structural components, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards. This is a workshop-based position, operating across a range of fabrication and installation projects.
Duties Will Include:
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to prepare and assemble plate components
Marking out, cutting, shaping, and forming heavy plate and structural steel
Operating flame cutters, saws, grinders and other fabrication equipment
Assembling steel sections and preparing work for welding
Working alongside welders and fabricators to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality
Adhering to health & safety and quality control procedures at all times
Supporting wider fabrication team with project deadlines and priorities What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience as a Plater in a heavy fabrication environment
Demonstrable experience working to engineering drawings and tight tolerances
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
A safety-conscious, quality-driven approach with excellent attention to detail
Overhead crane and workshop equipment experience beneficial What’s On Offer:
