Maintenance/Driver
Salary: £15.50 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week.
Welwyn Grange is a new care home set within the heart of the community in Welwyn Garden City. We will be bringing a fresher approach to residential, nursing and support.
We are recruiting for a full time Maintenance/Driver to ensure that the buildings and facilities at Welwyn Grange are well maintained and operate smoothly and safely at all times.
Responsible for ensuring our high standards are maintained, our residents' wellbeing, comfort and safety will be at the heart of everything you do.
The role will involve maintaining the building in terms of routine tasks that can be conducted without the use of contractors, therefore a professional experience of plumbing, electrical, carpentry etc would be an advantage, as would previous experience in professional facilities maintenance environment.
Some of the Maintenance/Driver main duties will include:
 * To respond efficiently and appropriately to maintenance and repairs issues as they arise
 * To provide the utmost care, consideration, respect and companionship to our residents whilst transporting them to and from their destinations
 * To present a positive and engaging attitude towards our staff, residents, their families’ and the public in general
In addition part of this role will include providing a driving service (using company vehicles), taking our residents to and from appointments and on social visits, so you will be polite, compassionate, caring and efficient but above all a considerate, safe driver.
You will be expected to build positive relationships with residents and staff, and you must be able to respond professionally and promptly to issues as they arise.
If you can demonstrate high levels of integrity, are calm, friendly, well organised and can work independently with minimal supervision, then we would love to hear from you.
You may also be required to be on-call for maintenance emergencies at times.
