Deliver comprehensive components of a policy launch or cross-functional work product that are integrated into an overarching project, creating meaningful impact in policy work with minimal assistance.
Design, execute, and advocate for policy and standards frameworks, engaging with cross-functional partners to drive trust and mitigate risk for our client. Assess emerging issues and topics, own at least one workflow or project area, and evaluate the impact of local law updates and active litigation. Plan and execute most prioritized project work independently, leveraging the team for support.
Role Responsibilities:
* Independently identify and recommend innovative solutions to evolving policy problems.
* Address escalated issues or triage when required, promptly and effectively.
* Analyze complex problems, frame policy issues, and present solutions to management and stakeholders.
* Identify trends, anticipate challenges, and develop strategies for ambiguous problems.
* Collaborate within teams to share knowledge on a broad set of tasks.
* Build networks with key stakeholders to facilitate cross-team collaboration and success.
* Promote a respectful and inclusive work environment.
* Engage in thought leadership by interacting with external partners on policy issues and innovative approaches.
* Coordinate timelines, goals, and objectives for project components.
* Work with cross-functional partners, including technical and vendor teams, to support policy launches and implementations.
* Understand the implications of policy and process changes on systems, enforcement, and operations.
* Demonstrate knowledge of policy development and implementation processes.
* Manage global product policies with regional focus, considering local culture, values, and community standards.
* Develop and implement product policies and standards across teams, participating in investigations and responding to inquiries from external parties.
* Identify, analyze, and prioritize policy issues affecting the business and users, now and in the future.
* Handle high-impact policy escalations across products with minimal guidance.
Skills & Experience:
* Strong communication skills, both written and oral, tailored to diverse audiences.
* Knowledge of online, international, and multilingual communities.
* Understanding of how to manage disruptive events affecting stakeholders and the public.
* Proficiency in a foreign language such as German, French, Mandarin, Spanish, or Russian.
* Fundamental knowledge of policies and the product platform.
* Understanding of internet policy, legal, and regulatory frameworks.
* Experience in internet technologies, policy, and regulatory environments, especially related to free expression, online safety, and content moderation.
* Ability to communicate fluently in French and English.
