A Day at MKS :
We are looking for an Experienced Electronics Engineer who will report to the Engineering Manager of MKS Crewe (UK), Mass Spectrometry Solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a range of high-performance electro-mechanical hardware. The position primarily involves digital electronic board-level design and contributing to system-level design and test activities, with opportunities to develop analogue electronic skills. This key position supports the business unit in developing innovative, powerful, and flexible products that align with the company's mission of profitable and sustainable growth.
You will make an impact by :
1. Participating in feasibility studies, project scoping, and cost estimation.
2. Contributing to project proposals and defining product architecture.
3. Specifying, designing, implementing, and validating hardware solutions.
4. Collecting and analyzing data to implement improvements.
5. Supporting the identification and resolution of complex manufacturing and after-sales issues.
Your skills :
* Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferable, with relevant experience.
* Essential digital electronics skills, including experience with:
o Microcontroller-based circuit design (part selection, schematic capture, I2C, SPI, UART, etc.).
o Firmware development and implementation (C/C++, RTOS, Git).
o Designing with ADCs and DACs for data acquisition systems.
o Experience with design and development projects.
* Ability to multitask, work independently and under pressure, with strong communication skills (verbal and written).
* Experience with engineering change processes and ISO 9001 quality practices.
Desirables :
* Experience in Analog Circuit design.
* Knowledge of system design and compliance standards (e.g., CE, NRTL).
* Familiarity with electronic test & measurement equipment and techniques.
* Experience with scripting languages or testing automation.
* Hands-on electronic skills, including soldering and fault finding on SMT boards.
* Willingness to travel internationally.
* Knowledge of vacuum technology and instrumentation systems.
