GSL Education are seeking a Design Technology Teacher to work in schools throughout Rotherham (S65 & S66). This role is perfect for someone passionate about guiding students through design processes, problem-solving, and real-world projects.
As a Design Technology (DT) Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons, support learners of mixed abilities, and encourage them to develop confidence in using tools, materials, and design software.
Prime Responsibilities:
* Teach Design Technology through clear, practical, and well-planned lessons.
* Support pupils with designing, modelling, and evaluating their work.
* Provide constructive feedback to help build technical and creative skills.
* Maintain a purposeful classroom environment with effective behaviour management.
* Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development.
* Track learner progress and keep accurate assessment records.
Requirements of Design Technology Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification.
* Strong subject expertise across areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Graphics.
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
* A commitment to helping learners grow both academically and practically.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A solid understanding of safeguarding procedures in schools.
