Job Purpose:
As an Air Conditioning Engineer, you will operate and maintain building AC/HVAC services, perform Planned Preventative Maintenance & Reactive Maintenance on HVAC appliances, conduct diagnostic checks and fault finding. You will undertake general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing and toilet blockages to assist the general maintenance team. Participation in out-of-hours call out rota and accurate completion of work-related documentation are required.
Main Duties
* Perform routine PPM tasks according to the SFG20 framework.
* Carry out reactive maintenance and electrical or air conditioning repairs as needed.
* Complete minor new works and certification.
* Attend site meetings or training sessions when required.
* Be proactive on site and cooperate with other disciplines for multi-discipline services.
* Procure materials and equipment through the Supervisor or Manager.
* Be available for works outside normal hours with additional pay.
* Participate in a callout rota with additional remuneration.
* Support contract mobilisation and change management.
* Utilize mobile technology effectively.
* Manage financial procedures and improve delivery efficiencies.
* Adhere to company and department mission, vision, and values.
* Ensure compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.
* Follow client operational procedures and obtain necessary access authorizations.
* Complete risk assessments and obtain client approval for works.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience in maintenance, testing, and fault finding on HVAC systems and lighting is desirable.
* Refrigeration or Air Conditioning qualifications (not F-Gas), such as NVQ Level 2 or 3, City & Guilds certifications, or equivalent experience.
* At least 5 years of experience in an air conditioning service role.
* Experience with packaged or air handling equipment, and commercial systems.
* Trade training scheme completion preferred.
* Ability to diagnose and repair faults proactively.
* Accurate record-keeping skills.
* Flexibility and adaptability in work hours and approach.
* Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
* Professional appearance and conduct.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good understanding of health & safety legislation and statutory compliance.
* Ability to carry tools up to 20kg and work at heights.
* Availability for call out rota.
* Full UK driving license required.
