My Local Government client is looking to recruit a Principal Accountant to join them on a permanent basis. As the Principal Accountant, your role will be to lead on the preparation and audit of the statement of accounts, and manage the treasury management, finance systems, payroll, insurance and VAT functions and provide a high quality, responsive and efficient finance service to the Council
The role will also be responsible for providing a professional lead within finance as well as providing advice for senior offices and being the main contact for internal and external auditors.
In order to be considered for the role you will need to be a qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with experience of working in local government finance and have good knowledge of Codes of Practice.
You will also have the ability to lead, motivate, influence and develop within the team whilst building relationships with stakeholders.
This is a permanent role paying £49,764 and will require some office presence each week
