Mental Health Assistant – SEMH School, Kidlington
All-through school for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / Complex Needs.
About the role
We are looking for a Graduate or experienced professional to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant / Mental Health Assistant, supporting children aged 5–16 with behaviour and mental health challenges. The role will be full‑time, starting ASAP or September 2026, and involves close collaboration with on‑site therapists and psychologists.
Key responsibilities
- Support children with behaviour and mental health needs in classroom and caseload settings.
- Collaborate with therapists and psychologists, shadow sessions and apply learning to practice.
- Use initiative and proactive approach to deliver child‑centred care.
- Demonstrate resilience and confidence when working with challenging behaviour.
Qualifications & experience
- Graduate in Psychology, Counselling, Education, Occupational Therapy or related field.
- Level 3 or higher qualification; a degree is desirable.
- Experience working with SEN children or adults in any setting (personal or professional) is considered an advantage.
Remuneration & hours
£80–£100 per day, full‑time Monday–Friday 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
