Childrens Residential Support Worker Long Day Shifts (Temp to Perm) We are recruiting a Childrens Residential Support Worker for a temp to perm opportunity within childrens residential homes in Burton upon Trent, supporting vulnerable children and young people in both Learning Disability (LD) and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) settings. Role Overview As a Childrens Residential Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, child-centred care in a residential setting. Experience in childrens residential care is desirable, however candidates with relevant transferable experience will also be considered. Full training is provided, with clear progression opportunities. Key Responsibilities Childrens Residential Support Worker Provide safe, nurturing care as a Childrens Residential Support Worker Support children and young people within LD and EBD residential homes Assist with personal care, daily routines, and household tasks Promote independence, structure, and positive behaviour Implement care plans and behaviour support strategies Maintain accurate records and incident reports Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and organisational policies Shift Patterns Long day shifts with sleep-ins 2 on / 4 off rota pattern Sleep-in duties included as part of the rota Temp to perm opportunity Requirements Experience working with children in a residential home is desirable Transferable experience (education, SEN, youth work, care, support work) considered Experience supporting LD and/or EBD advantageous Ability to work long day shifts with sleep-ins on a 2 on / 4 off rota Child and Adult Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred, not essential Full UK driving licence preferred Childrens Residential Support Worker long day shifts, temp to perm Competitive hourly rates Full training provided Opportunity to enrol on the Childrens Residential Level 3 qualification Progression opportunities for ambitious candidates Birthday annual leave plus a birthday gift voucher Overtime paid at time and a half Additional annual leave 1 extra day per year of service (capped at 10 years) £500 salary bonus after successfully passing probation £500 annual salary bonus Supportive team and management structure
