Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team on a 2 -10 shift. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in Park Mount Care Home but will on occasions be asked to cover at Keele Crescent Care Home. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents with daily living activities, personal care ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Must be willing do gain Care Certificate or NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care.
Duties
* Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support individuals with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
* Help residents with meals and drinks and feeding as required.
* Maintain accurate electronic records of care delivered and resident progress.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
* Drive residents to appointments or social activities as needed.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills in providing high-quality care.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
* A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting clients.
* Strong command of the English language for effective communication with clients and colleagues.
* Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using care management software.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to client care.
* Ability to follow care plans accurately and work collaboratively within a team.
