ROLE OVERVIEW
The Communications Executive will be an integral part of the RLSS UK communications and marketing team within the Income Generation and Engagement Directorate, with responsibility for supporting and delivering our communications strategy, specifically contributing to RLSS UK's digital communication channels, including web, social and email, to engage with prospective and existing members, volunteers, supporters and the leisure industry. This role is key to building the RLSS UK brand and support the delivery of the members Lifesavers magazine and commercial e-newsletter.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the Income Generation and commercial teams in promoting income-generating activities via digital communication channels to support the Society's charitable aims.
• Create engaging content for digital communications campaigns to inspire new and existing customers, ensuring proper portrayal of the brand's image and tone.
• Support the development and delivery of a communications calendar to ensure coordinated planning and communications activity.
• Update social media platforms and manage paid-for social media campaigns.
• Coordinate with the Communications Manager, Marketing Manager, Senior Head of Communications and Marketing and wider colleagues to schedule all digital communications activities.
• Optimise copy and landing pages for search engine optimisation and getting the right audience to view our content.
• Performing ongoing keyword research.
• Track, analyse, and report on online and digital marketing metrics to the Communications Manager.
• Assist with proofreading for web, social media, and campaigns.
• Maintain familiarity with RLSS UK products and services to identify products that need updating online in line with business needs.
• Maintain familiarity of membership and education services to ensure that support is provided as appropriate
• Keep abreast of changes in digital platforms and techniques to promote the RLSS UK brand and improve customer experience.
• Support the management of RLSS UK's brand, ensuring consistency and correct use to maintain a brand that's enticing and familiar to the leisure industry and prospective members.
• To deputise for the Communications Manager when required.
General
• Lead on and support ad hoc projects as required
• Contribute to the successful operation of the charity by undertaking such other tasks as may from time to time be required including all other duties reasonably associated with your role, as directed by the Line Manager.
• Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 by complying with internal information governance policies and maintaining up-to-date documentation as part of RLSS UK's compliance programme.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Relevant Experience, Skills and/or Aptitudes
• A degree in a relevant discipline and/or proven experience in supporting a communications and marketing team with digital activity, including using and managing digital platforms and communications campaigns.
• Knowledge of the latest communications market trends and social media communications techniques.
• Skilled in creating and managing campaigns.
• Skilled in creating and managing organic and paid social media campaigns - Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.
• Proficient at SEO, including knowledge of how search engines categorise results and how to improve page rankings, optimising copy and landing pages, ongoing keyword research, creating engaging and SEO-friendly content, and understanding SEO tools.
• Proficient at creating engaging and persuasive content.
• Experienced in supporting and managing social media calendars.
• Ability to edit photos and videos.
• Create persuasive copy and content with a call to action as appropriate
• Proficient in producing and interpreting analytics and reporting to adjust future campaigns and provide insights into the business.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Skilled in marketing software, incl. web CMS, social platforms, Google Ads, Sproutsocial or similar, email marketing system(s) and G4 Google Analytics.
• Have a genuine passion for using digital platforms and techniques to promote brands, products, and services, improve engagement and support income streams.
• Work collaboratively with all RLSS UK teams to raise awareness of our awards and qualifications offer and all workstreams as appropriate
• Willingness and ability to travel as required for the role including occasional evenings and weekends
• Experience of working in leisure industry
• Experience of supporting fundraising teams in raising six figure incomes
