Overview

Location: York | Job Title: Electrical Engineering Manager | Business Unit: Nestlé UK Ltd

Salary up to £58,000 depending on experience + car allowance + potential bonus + generous pension scheme + 12 flexible days on top of 25-day holiday entitlement + 2 paid volunteering days + other fantastic benefits. Position Summary

The Electrical Engineering Manager is based on site and a key member of the Engineering Leadership team. They are responsible for site compliance with machinery legislation and workforce safety, and they drive projects and continuous improvement of digitalisation, obsolescence management and the delivery of TPM 7+4 in York Factory. This role has a strong focus on delivering electrical, automation and digitalisation on site.

Nestlé York Factory is home to Kit Kat and other brands such as Aero, Milky bar Buttons and Yorkie. These products are produced through controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines. Manufacturing at Nestlé focuses on delivering a perfect quality product at the right time and place while driving losses from the business to maximise efficiency and productivity.


A day in the life of an Electrical Engineering Manager

To monitor the electrical distribution and control systems to contribute to the safe and efficient running of the sites within the Senior Duty Holder's jurisdiction. This includes an overview of all work on the system, approving specifications and designs, validating installation, testing and commissioning. The role holder will help maintain the Group electrical standards and safety procedures and implement these with statutory and local safety standards on site(s). The role holder is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable Regulations and standards.


Key responsibilities

* Manage and control projects within the site capability site standards, focused on continuous improvement of the site.
* Ensure that all LV and HV maintenance is carried out in accordance with regulations.
* Ensure Electrical Duty Holders, Assignees, and Technicians have the appropriate competence and are appointed to work on the electrical network.
* Support project teams in preparing budgets to ensure statutory and company requirements for electrical maintenance and compliance are met.
* Take ownership of factory/department projects (e.g., upgrading obsolete control systems).
* Act as contract manager for various electrical 3rd party contracts.
* Look for ways to reduce electrical energy; manage interfaces with electrical engineering; ensure documentation is updated after projects.
* Be the custodian of the digital roadmap, including DMO module roll-out and SCADA migration/development.
* Lead the MES/Automation strategy to enable the factory to drive cost competitiveness with support from E&A Engineers.
* Ensure site ownership for machinery safety compliance with corporate standards and applicable law.


What will make you successful

We expect you to ideally have experience in a FMCG food or similar industrial automation environment with a strong service orientation towards internal stakeholders, proactivity, and attention to detail.

* Knowledge and experience with PLC systems, preferably Allen Bradley and Schneider.
* Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution is desirable but not required.
* Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 4 equivalent in a relevant electrical engineering discipline.
* Demonstrable knowledge/experience in Automation and/or MES engineering with Electrical experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably FMCG).
* Proven track record delivering digitalisation within manufacturing (Industry 4.0).
* Previous experience of utilities plant and project management.
* Qualification in Machinery safety or working towards such as CSME or TUV.
