Salary Scale: £111,430 - £148,064 per annum

Borders General Hospital is a modern and well‑equipped 320 bed DGH serving the rural Borders area in South East Scotland, approximately 36 miles from Edinburgh.
The Role
This friendly department provides predominantly elective, clinic and theatre‑based ENT surgery care to the paediatric and adult population of the Scottish Borders. The hospital cares for 2% of the population of Scotland spread over 10% of the country, presenting challenges that require a flexible and adaptable approach.
The appointee will play a full part in the work of the Department and will provide leadership to maintain and develop ENT services in the Scottish Borders.
The appointee will have continuing responsibility for the care of patients in their charge and undertake administrative duties associated with patient care and an appropriate contribution to the running of the ENT Department.
Fixed clinical commitments will be combined with activity in ward rounds, education, patient administration, audit, service redesign and committee work.
The hospital is located in a rural setting with excellent schools, abundant local amenities and good transport links to Edinburgh, allowing a high quality of life in this scenic part of the country. A relocation package up to full Inland Revenue limits is available if the successful candidate relocates their main residence to the local area.
Qualifications
* Must hold FRCS(ENT).
* Must be fully registered with the General Medical Council on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of interview date.
