Experience required
* Degree in a related technical field (Environmental/Civil Engineering) or equivalent experience
* Working in Flood Risk Management in the private or public sector (such as the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities or Internal Drainage Boards)
* Awareness of relevant legislation, planning policy, guides and design standards relating to flood risk management and drainage strategies
* A sound understanding of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and statutory duties relating to surface water drainage
* Experience of delivering and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments/Flood Consequence Assessments and or Drainage Strategies to supporting planning applications
* Experience of using or producing strategic flood risk management documents such as Strategic Flood Risk Assessments/Strategic Flood Consequence Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans or Local Flood Risk Management Strategies
* Experience of flood investigation work such as delivering Section 19 Flood Investigations
* Experience of stakeholder engagement both internally and externally on projects or responding to customer queries and requests for information
* Experience of writing technical and non-technical reports
* A full UK driving license
* Chartered or working towards Chartered status
* Experience of managing and analysing large datasets and GIS/design software (e.g. MapInfo, Arc, QGIS, AutoCAD)
* Experience of working with outputs from modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, InfoDrainage or Causeway Flow
* Able to provide drainage and flood risk management advice from a regulatory perspective
