We already have a committed team of teaching and non-teaching staff and are keen to recruit someone with a love of life and learning and a great sense of humour! Due to the opening of our ARP in January 2025, we are now looking for a hard-working practitioner who is passionate about achieving excellent outcomes for all children, but particularly those with SEND. The successful applicant will be resilient, confident, be able to use their initiative and a great team player. They will be fully committed to providing the very best for the children in our school and for the local community that we serve. This role will be offered as a Permanent position following a successful 6mth probationary period. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of our Alternative Resource Provision, under the direction of our SENDCo. Our ARP supports 8 children with 3 staff. This role requires the successful candidate to be committed to meeting the unique, individual needs of each child. ESSENTIAL: - A flexible approach to challenge and change. - The successful candidate should be physically fit; working with little people can be quite demanding - High ambitions for themself, with a commitment to their own professional development - A commitment to provide every child with the best possible start in life - Experience of working in a school, specifically EYFS and KS1 - Experience of working with children with SEND - Some experience of leading and managing staff - Organised, consistent and patient - Able to initiate ideas and put them into practice. - Have a positive outlook and respond positively to challenge. - Relates well to children and is intuitively responsive to all their needs, with a particular focus on their general wellbeing. - Competent use of ICT to enhance children’s learning. - Competently use clear, grammatically correct spoken and written English. - The ability to work as part of a team to plan, teach and assess effectively for the next steps in children’s learning. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to developing and maintaining close links with the whole community. DESIRABLE - Experience of managing a small team. - Able to lead a ‘Bucket Time’ session with enthusiasm and passion. - Be committed to the delivery of a ‘Core Word’ Curriculum. - Have an understanding of ‘Alternative Communication’ including Makaton and picture symbols. - An understanding of supporting Sensory Needs. - Be familiar with EHCP, SALT and IEP documents. - Experience of working with external professionals with professionalism and confidence. We are a caring two-form entry Infant School, with a 2-3yr old Preschool Provision, 3-4 yr old Nursery Provision, two 4/5yr old Reception classes and three mixed yr1/2 classes, as well as our ARP. We have an inclusive, nurturing ethos, within calm, attachment and trauma aware settings. We are committed to the emotional, as well as the academic, development of all our children. We pride ourselves on the CPD that we offer our staff across the school and preschool, with many internal promotions. This is a term time only role (including 5 training days) for 31.25hrs a week. 8.30am – 3.15pm each day (30mins lunch break), 1hr planning mtg with the SENDCo each week Overtime may be available dependant on the needs of the setting. The post is subject to a satisfactory 6mth probation period, in the first instance, however the retention rate of staff in our setting is extremely high and staff who express an interest in additional hours are usually accommodated. Many staff also seek additional professional development, by requesting to work across the Infant School, in order to progress their future career options. Infant, Nursery & Preschool All staff are supported through a cycle of Supervision Meetings with their Line manager, on a regular basis.
