A well-established NI engineering manufacturer is seeking a Design Engineer to join its engineering team. The business is a recognised leader within the heavy engineering sector, known for its strongmitment to safety,pliance and engineering innovation. Its products are widely regarded for setting new standards in attachment safety and performance.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the design, development and ongoing improvement of engineered products, while working closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure efficient, high-quality output within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and develop engineering solutions for existing and new products
2. Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production and new product development
3. Process engineering and production change orders
4. Manage machine and product specification changes
5. Provide technical design support to the manufacturing department
6. Assist with the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle from an engineering perspective
7. Support the creation and maintenance of production schedules where required
8. Drive and contribute to continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives
.What You’ll Need to Succeed
9. Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent hands-on industry experience
10. Proven experience using 3D CAD / modelling software (essential)
11. Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Infor experience advantageous)
12. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks
13. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines
14. Well-organised with a logical and methodical problem-solving approach
15. Strongmunication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams
