About the Role
Abbey Field Medical Centre in Colchester are seeking an experienced medical secretary to join their administrative team on a full or part-time basis. Please add what hours/days you are able to work on your CV.
Medical secretaries are playing an increasingly important role in managing patient information and ensuring that healthcare providers have access to the data they need to deliver high-quality care.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
* Providing a full secretarial service including the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, meeting minutes, memorandums, etc.
* Handling queries regarding hospital appointments and treatments.
* Ensuring that any requests for information are appropriately dealt with and that all subsequent charges are invoiced appropriately.
* Arranging meetings (to include the booking of rooms) as required.
* Designing template letters and forms for use throughout the practice.
* Maintaining the clinical system, in an accurate and secure manner.
* Assisting with the gathering of statistics and information.
About the Candidate
We would welcome applications from those with the following skills and experience:
* Audio- and touch-typing skills.
* Strong administrative experience and good organisation skills.
* Sound knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
* Excellent general IT skills includingMS Office and experience of working with a clinical system.
* Experience in read-coding and work-flowing clinical documentation.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Understanding of the needto maintain confidentiality and data security, at all times.
* Ability tomulti-task and to work accurately under pressure.
* Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
About Us
Abbey Field Medical Centre are a practice of approximately 20,000 patients covering sites in Colchester, Greenstead and Elmstead Market.
We use SystmOne clinical system.
